Eugene R. “Corky” Brundage, 78, of Coudersport died Tuesday, August 2, 2017 at Cole Memorial Hospital.

Born February 4, 1939 in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of the late Edward and Katherine (Currier) Brundage. On July 29, 1959, he married Joanne Bridges, they shared 58 years of marriage together.

Eugene was a graduate of Northern Potter High School. He also served in the United States Navy. He had been employed for many years as a mechanic for the National Fuel Company. He was a member of the St. Eulalia Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed performing mechanic duties both at work and home. Eugene’s hobbies consisted of bird watching, and keeping a beautiful garden. He was one of the world’s biggest Pittsburgh Pirates fan and shook hands with Willie Stargell. Eugene took great pride in taking care of his family, described by family as an extremely honest, genuine, and religious person. Eugene will be remembered for joking and laughing with family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Joanne Brundage of Genesee, PA; daughter, Bernadette Lafever of Coudersport, PA; son, James (Christine) Brundage of VA; eight grandchildren; brother, John of Wellsville, NY; sisters, Anette of Bradford, PA and Josephine; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by, his son, John Brundage; brother, George Brundage; and sister, Emma.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of his family. Interment will take place in the Hebron Cemetery.
