Mary L. Stone

Mary Louise Stone, 68, of Coudersport, formerly of Southampton, NY, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at her home.  Mary was born on January 2, 1956, in Southampton, Long Island, NY, the daughter of the late Michael and Ella (Brown) Ambrose, Jr. She married Dayvid Stone on December 4, 1976, in Southampton, NY and celebrated 47 years of marriage. 

Mary is a member of the Gospel Tabernacle, Coudersport, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 192, Coudersport.  She also enjoyed watching sporting events, playing cards, and spending time with her husband and friends.   

In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by a daughter, Cynthiana (Ben) Deaton of Berea, KY; a son, Steven Stone of Lexington, KY; brothers, Johnny Ambrose of Austin; Todd Ambrose of Long Island, NY; a sister-in-law, Joanna Ambrose of Southampton; and granddaughters, Allie and Serenity Stone.  In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Ambrose, III, and three precious babies: Wynton Hellen Stone, Michael Ella Stone, and Fay Robbins Stone.

Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 3-4pm at the Gospel Tabernacle, 420 Route 6 West, Coudersport.  A celebration of Mary’s life will follow at 4pm at the church with Pastor John Minor, officiating.
