Mary Elizabeth Parrish, 93, a resident of the Freeman House, Coudersport, passed away Saturday September 24, 2022 at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport. She was born on November 24, 1928, in Lewiston, Maine the only child of the late Ernest Tilden and Eldora Marie (Duguay) Jackson.
She was a life member of the American Legion, Potter Post #192 Auxillary. She held various positions on the board throughout her 40+ years. She was also a member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church, Coudersport.
She married Engle Parrish on September 3, 1947 who preceded her in death. She is survived by five children; Sandra (Dan) Raitt of Dallas Center, Iowa; Wanda (Jim) Coons of Waukee, Iowa; Jim (Edie) Parrish of Chiefland, FL; Brenda (Fred) Henning of Coudersport; Roger (Linda) Parrish of Little Lot, TN; a daughter-in-law, Maxine Parrish of Coudersport; 16 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by sons, John and David Parrish.
There will be no visitation or services. The family has entrusted the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home, 210 N. East St., Coudersport, with her arrangements.
