Lynn C. Slamecka

Lifelong Coudersport resident Lynn Carol Slamecka, age 70, died suddenly and peacefully at her home this week.  Born in Coudersport Memorial Hospital on February 22, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Frank Slamecka and Mary B. (Hiram) Slamecka. Lynn graduated from Coudersport Area High School and worked at several restaurants in town before moving to her final job as an aide at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. She retired in 2015.

Lynn was very close to her parents.  Upon the death of her father, she and her mother became almost inseparable until Mary’s passing in 1996.  The family takes great solace in knowing that the 3 of them are united once again in the presence of the Lord.  Always smiling and with a devilish laugh, Lynn was a friend to anyone she met. She enjoyed reading, bingo, and old movies.

She was of Episcopalian faith.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents Ed and Amelia Hiram and her great uncle/ aunt Joe and Eva Knechtel with whom she was very close. She is survived by her brother Jerry (Jane) Slamecka of Butler, Pa. and her nephews Matt, Brad, and Dr. Brian (Jaime) Slamecka.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home.  Private services for the family will be conducted at a later date with burial to occur in Eulalia Cemetery.
