James Michael Liller, Sr., 38, of Coudersport, died suddenly Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at UPMC – Cole, Coudersport.

James was born on November 29, 1983 in Corning, NY, the son of the late Stanley J. Liller, Jr. and Elizabeth (Waltz) Liller of Wellsville.  On April 16, 2005, he married the former Tracy L. Fry and they have celebrated 16 years of marriage.

James graduated from Whitesville Central School, Class of 2003.  He was the general manager at Northern Tier Trading Company, Coudersport and previously worked for Morgan AMT, Coudersport and SMC Powder, Coudersport.   James was a member of the Sweden Valley Faith Community United Methodist Church, the Eulalia Masonic Lodge #342, Coudersport, and the Roulette Rod & Gun Club.  He enjoyed coaching, hunting, fishing, football, was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, and enjoyed being involved with his sons’ activities.  James coached youth football and soccer in Coudersport, volunteered running the down chains for football, and was a strong Coudersport sports supporter.

In addition to his wife, Tracy Liller, and mother, Elizabeth Liller, James is survived by three sons, James M. Liller, Jr., Oliver S. Liller, and Trenton J. Liller all of Coudersport; brothers, Donald S. (Laura) Liller of Summersville, WV; Gregory S. (Beth Almanza) Liller of Lakin, KS; very close friend that he loved as a brother, William (Beth) Manry of Friendship, NY; paternal grandfather, Stanley J. Liller, Sr. of Corning, NY; father and mother-in-law, Oliver and Kathleen Fry of Coudersport; sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Chuck Bartlett of Lewisburg; and nieces, Angel Liller of Wellsville; and Erin Bartlett of Lewisburg; and many other family and friends. 

In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Marlene Liller and maternal grandparents, Donald and Peggy Waltz. 

A Celebration of James life will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 1pm to 4pm at the Sweden Valley Faith Community United Methodist Church at the Social Hall.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in James’s name may be made to the Coudersport Youth Football c/o Keri Powell, 449 Peet Brook Rd., Coudersport, PA 16915.

The family has entrusted James’s arrangements with the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home, 210 N. East St., Coudersport.
