Dorothy Jean (Hoagland) Bajor, 79 of Austin, passed away Friday December 4, 2020 at Sweden Valley Manor. Born September 14, 1941 to Eugene John William and Valeria Mae (Lamberson) Hoagland in Mansfield Twp. NJ, Dorothy graduated from North Hunterdon High School. On February 17, 1961 she married Howard Bajor, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Dorothy was very active in her community, she served on the board of directors for the Potter County Municipal Sewage Agency, was Portage Township Supervisor and Secretary/Treasurer for 20+ years, was an avid wildlife photographer and made greeting cards from those pictures, she wrote stories for the Potter Leader under the pseudonym “Silvertip”, she authored and sold the local Leek Cookbook, but her what she was most proud of was establishing Austin Dam as a park, which she was instrumental in accomplishing.Dorothy is survived by her husband: Howard Bajor of Austin, a son: Steven (Melanie) Bajor of Emporium, a grandson Eric Orsich of Minnesota, and a sister Joan Lucas of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services at this time, and her arrangements have been entrusted to the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home 210 N. East Street Coudersport, PA 16915.
