Anthony “Tony” E. Pierotti, 73, of Coudersport, passed away on July 21, 2023, at UPMC – Cole, Coudersport. Tony was born on January 29, 1950, in Jersey City, NJ, the son of the late John Pierotti who died when Tony was 14 years old, and Angielina (Favorito) Pierotti who died when Tony was 18 years old. Tony has shared over 35 years with his companion, Bette Gates who survives.
Tony graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a bachelor’s degree in education. He worked as a Nurses Aid for Charles Cole Hospital for 25 years and prior, four years at the Sweden Valley Manor where he met Bette. Tony was a weather enthusiast and was an avid cooperation weather observer. He provided 24 hours of weather to the National Weather Service. Tony was also recognized as Outstanding Citizen of Coudersport.
In addition to his companion, Bette, Tony is survived by Bette’s sons; Thomas A. (Sarah) Lucas of Costello; Norman O. (Christine) Lucas of Emporium; Timothy G. (Angela) Lucas of Union City; and Bette’s 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a brother, John B. Pierotti.
At Tony’s request, there will be no visitation or services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions in Tony’s name be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 1001 East Second St., Coudersport, PA 16915.
