Russell W. Moore, Jr.

Russell W. Moore, Jr., 73, of Keating Summit, died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his residence.

Russell was born on September 15, 1947, in Frederick County, MD, the son of the late Russell W. and Helen Irene (Robertson) Moore.  He married the former Jane E. Firor on March 19, 1983 and celebrated 38 years of marriage.

Russell was a veteran of the United States Army, serving 22 years  retiring as a Chief Mechanic.  He was a member of the American Legion, Potter Post 192 and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Jane Moore, Russell is survived by sons, Gary Moore of Emporium; Brian Moore of Harrisburg; daughters, Irene Orwig of Red Lion; Ginger Hill of Spring Grove; a step-son, Timothy Rill of Erie; a step-daughter, Christina Wagner of Hanover; a brother, John Moore of Roulette; and 13 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Moore.

At Russell’s request, there will be no visitation or public services.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Russell’s name to the Austin Volunteer Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 328, Austin, PA 16720

The family has entrusted the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home, 210 North East St. Coudersport, with his arrangements.
