Rhea M. Burdick

Rhea M. Burdick, 89, of Coudersport, PA passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Cole Memorial Hospital.

Born May 27, 1926 in Coudersport, she was the daughter of Arnold E. and Irene Hackett Meacham. On September 2, 1944 in Millport, PA she married Arden J. Burdick who preceded her in death  March 19, 1997.

Rhea was a lifetime resident of Coudersport. She graduated from Coudersport High School. She was a member of the Park United Methodist Church and Central Grange #1216 of Sweden Valley.

She had been employed with Brownhill and Kramer Hosiery Mill and later with Pure Carbon Co. where she worked as an inspector.

Rhea is survived by her daughter; Sandra Karhan of Coudersport, PA, son; David (Sharon) Burdick of Rushford , NY, sister; Kathryn (Carlisle) Douglas, of Allegany, NY, and her four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Vernon Karhan, Jr., three infant children, six brothers; Paul, Raymond, Clyde, Carl, Richard and Ronald “Bucky” Meacham

Rhea’s  services will be  Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home with a receiving of friends from 10 to 11 am, and a memorial service following at 11am., Rev. Scott Ogden officiating. Burial in Hebron Cemetery . Memorials may be made to the Coudersport Senior Center, 165 Rt. 6 West, Coudersport, PA 16915 or charity of donors choice.
