Raymond A. Vanhorn

Raymond A. VanHorn, 80, of Austin passed away Thursday May 26, 2022 at the Bath VA Medical Center in Bath, NY. He was born July 20, 1941 in Olean, NY to Raymond W. and Grace E. (Burrows) VanHorn. After graduating high school, Raymond joined the US Navy, and made it his career. While serving in SanDiego, he married Janice Welch. Raymond served his country in the Navy for 27 years and 9 months, from the Viet Nam War to serving as the Chief Recruiter in Erie, PA responsible for the whole of Southwest PA. In addition to his military service, Raymond operated a construction company with his brother, and owned his own semi truck which he drove for Buckler Transport. Raymond is survived by a brother: James VanHorn of Coudersport, PA, and a sister: Donna Lathorp of Crosby, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Janice VanHorn.
