Mayfred H. Russell

Mayfred H. Russell, 89, of Coudersport, PA passed away January 16, 2017 at Cole Memorial Hospital.
Born June 15, 1927 in Genesee, PA she was the daughter of Orrin and Maude Dildine Hackett.
On November 24, 1946 in Coudersport, she married Reuben F. “Junior” Russell who preceded her in death July 22, 2002.
Mayfred was a graduate of Coudersport High School.She worked for Brownhill-Kramer Silk Mill in Coudersport. She and her husband Reuben operated Maplehurst Farm together. She served as School Board Director and for over 20 years was the business manager for the Coudersport School District. She was one of the charter members of the Coudersport Alliance Church and lately attended Park United Methodist Church. Her enjoyments included cross stitching, square dancing, baking and card playing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Janet (David) Chalfant, Akron, PA, Linda (Carl) Klingaman, Carol (Jeff) Carts and Mary (Paul) Lilja, all of Coudersport, PA, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mayfred will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 with a receiving of family and friends from 11am-1pm, followed by a memorial service at 1pm at the Park United Methodist Church, 15 East 3rd St., Coudersport, PA, Pastor Scott Ogden officiating . Burial will be in Homer Cemetery.
