Judith A. Shaffer

Judith A. Shaffer, 83, of Sharpsville, PA, formerly of Coudersport, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the Rockbridge Oaks Nursing Center, Memory Care Unit, Chattanooga, TN. She was born on September 26, 1942, the daughter of the late Kenneth R. and Grace E. (Tyler) Ianson. She was the wife of the late Dale (Ed) Shaffer.

Judie was a graduate of Coudersport High School and worked for many years at the Hills Department Store, Sharon PA and the Holiday Inn, Sharon PA. She was a great cook and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She especially loved to crochet baby afghans and even had one given to Ben Roethlisberger. Judie attended the United Methodist Church in Sharpsville PA.

Judie is survived by three daughters: Jody Jaskulski of Green Bay, WI; Rebecca Marsala of Oneida, NY; Daris (Mark) Kosinski of Rome, NY; two sons: Theodore (Karen) Elliott of Old Fort, TN; Zane (Raechelle) Elliott of Vernon Center, NY; a stepdaughter Lynn (Rick) Bown of Vancouver, WA and two stepsons Karl Shaffer of Cortland, OH and Michael Shaffer of Lehi, UT; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Judie was preceded in death by brothers: Robert, William and Ronald Ianson.

The family would like to thank the Rockbridge Oaks Nursing Center, Memory Care Unit for the care afforded to our mom. Donations in Judie’s name can be made to Rockbridge Oaks Memory Care, 6698 Palms Court, Chattanooga TN 37421.

There will be no visitation or services. A private burial will be in the Ianson Family Cemetery, Borie. Judie’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home, 210 N.
