Evelyn M. Eccher, of Coudersport, PA, passed away surrounded by her family on July 8, 2016 at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Philadelphia on May 23, 1925 to Maurice and Katherine Feldman Block. She married her husband of 65 years, Lewis Eccher, who survives, on July 9, 1950.
Evelyn spent her early years in Bucks County, attending Quakertown schools and later participating in a family business. She and her husband moved to Emporium, PA in 1970 and several years later settled in Coudersport.
Evelyn is additionally survived by a daughter, Laurette (Laurence) Patterson of Saxonburg, PA, and a son Craig (Brenda) Eccher of Wellsboro, PA. Five grandchildren: Jenna (Derek) Acorn, Alexandra Patterson, Jordan Eccher, Kyle Eccher and Emma Eccher. Her first great grandchild is expected in September. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Francis.
Evelyn enjoyed the peace and beauty of Potter County and spending time with her family and friends.
At her request, there will be no visitation. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date. Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport is assisting the family.
