Emelda M. Mahon Glover, 91, of Austin died September 1, 2017 at her residence. Born January 22, 1926 in Austin, she was the daughter of Thomas W. and Isabelle Moyer Mahon. On April 12, 1950 in Coudersport she married Charles W. “Bill” Glover who preceded her in death. Emelda attended school in Austin and remained a lifelong resident. She was employed as Treasurer of the Austin Borough, and worked at the Austin School each for 24 years. She was an active member of the Austin United Methodist Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, and Chairperson and Treasurer of the Pastor Parish Relations at her church. Emelda served on the Republican Committee and as the Potter County Auditor. She was a member of the Port Allegany Moose Lodge Aux. #460, Austin-Costello Sportsmen Club, East Fork Sportsmen’s Club, and a life member of the Austin V.F.W. Post Aux. #7810, and the American Legion Potter Post #192 in Coudersport. For many years she and her friends travelled together so often they were given the nickname “The Golden Girls”. Surviving are two sons: Gerald (Cindy) Glover of Emporium, and Paul E. (Mary) Glover of Bradford; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, one daughter: Patricia Schweikart, brothers: Thomas, Harry, Edward, Richard Marvin, and sisters: Maude, Lena, Eva Eloise, Irene Annabelle, Reva, and Anna Mae. Friends and family are invited to the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral home Thursday September 7, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8pm to pay tribute to her life in the community and her impact in our lives, and to a funeral service Friday September 8, 2017 at the Austin United Methodist Church at 1pm with Pastor Steven Small officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Austin. In lieu of flowers Emelda has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Asutin United Methodist Church, Turner Street, Austin, PA 16720. Emelda’s family has entrusted the Thomas E.
