Eleanor E. Perkins (Erway), 82, resident of Coudersport, PA, passed away on April 15th, 2016 with her family by her side at the Cole Memorial Hospital.
Eleanor was the daughter of Lewis Harold and Edith (Blake) Erway, born on March 5th 1934 in Coudersport. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Nursing. In 1958, Eleanor married her husband William Henry Perkins and had four children, William, twin boys-Jeffrey and Jonathan, James and Jennifer.
Eleanor loved to cook and bake, listen to music such as Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Tom Jones, taking care of her flower and vegetable garden, visiting her neighbors while taking walks with her beloved dog Rudy; you could also find her volunteering within the neighborhood and community wherever she was needed. Eleanor was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Eleanor is survived by two sons: Jeffrey Perkins(Leann) of Bliss, NY, James Perkins(Jessie Jane) of Trumansburg, NY, only daughter Jennifer Hinckley(Michael) of Yorkshire, NY, two brothers Elwin Erway(Marion) and Carl Erway(Diane), one sister Thelma Davidson, six grandchildren, several great grandchildren and her dog-Rudy.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband William, both her parents and sons William and Jonathan.
Family and friends are invited to the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home, 210 N. East St., Coudersport, PA, 16915 on Friday April 22nd, 2016 with a visitation from 3pm-5pm with a celebration to follow at 5pm. Family has requested for those that will be attending to please bring a memory that can be shared during her service.
