On Monday December 12, 2016 at 1 a.m., Doris M. Leffler (age 97) of 404 S. Main St. Coudersport, Pa., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Doris was born February 10, 1919 in Rochester New York to Henry and Maude (Neil) Mall who preceded her in passing to Heaven. Doris had no siblings. Her family moved to Coudersport in 1939 and she married Lawrence Leffler on August 18, 1940. Doris gave birth to a son, Bryan Clarence Leffler, on the morning of September 11, 1951. Sadly, Bryan died the same day and was buried on Wednesday September 12 in Eulalia Cemetery. Doris’ husband Lawrence entered Heaven on June 16, 1971.

Doris is survived by her nephew Robert (Betty) Carlson of Round Hill, Va.

Doris was employed as a secretary at the Potter County Agents office, but she was best known as the local piano teacher. She attended the Coudersport Free Methodist Church for many years and was the organist.

Doris was also known for her love for animals. Her “pretty Princess” - the cat - has been adopted by Pastor Pete and Pam Tremblay.

The Coudersport Free Methodist Church, her family, and Pastor Pete and Pam Tremblay would like to thank the loving care-givers of the CMH Homemaker’s program as well as the loving care of the all of the staff on all shifts at Sweden Valley Manor. “You have been and are a great blessing to those you serve. Thank You!”

Visitation will be Monday Dec. 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. Thomas E. Fickenger Funeral Home, 210 N. East St., Coudersport, Pa. followed by a Life Celebration Service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Pete Tremblay of the Coudersport Free Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the SPCA or the Coudersport Free Methodist Church.
