William “Bill” L. Erway, 72, of Coudersport, PA, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at his home .

Born May 2, 1945 in Wellsboro, PA, he was the son of Burdett and Majorie Woodard Erway.

Bill was a graduate of Coudersport High school. He worked for 33 years at Pure Carbon in Coudersport.

Bill enjoyed watching sports, especially Pirates baseball and Steelers football. He loved his family and friends and was especially close to his grandchildren who referred to him as Pop Pop. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Navy.

Bill is survived by his son, William “Willie” Erway, Jr., of Olean, NY; daughter, Carrie Clark of Coudersport, PA; grandchildren, Dylan (Erin) Clark of Ft. Carson, CO; Brandon Clark of Coudersport, PA; Mason Tarabori of Coudersport, PA and Brianna Erway of Olean, NY; great-granddaughter, Aria Clark of  Ft. Carson, CO; brothers Tom (Dot) Erway of NC and Burdett “Doe” (Teena) Erway of Coudersport, PA; sisters, Candice “Candy” (Joe) Kadora of Friedens, PA and Penny (Mike) Jewell of Niles, OH, brother-in-law, Pete Taylor of Port Allegany, PA.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Roxy Taylor.

Private services for Bill will be held at the convenience of his family.
