Levia S. “Kitten” Crosby, 97, formerly of Odin, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Sena-Kean Manor, Smethport.
Kitten was born on November 1, 1920 in Mayburg, the daughter of the late John and Levia (Stewart) MacMartin. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Crosby who preceded her in death on September 13, 2009.
She was also a homemaker and loved children. She was a graduate of Sheffield High School, Class of 1938. She retired from the Austin School District as Cafeteria Manager. Prior she had worked for GTE Sylvania, Emporium. Early in life she worked for Dr. Dorman in Austin.
Kitten was a member of the Austin United Methodist Church and active with the United Methodist Women. She was a 75 year member of the Odin Grange #1254, the Pomona Grange, State Grange, and the National Grange. She was the founder and leader of the Odin Junior Grange and became State Deputy of the Pennsylvania Junior Grange. Kitten was also a former Cub Scout leader.
Kitten is survived by five children, G. Elaine (Vincent ”Skip”) Goodreau of Coudersport; Phyllis (Cecil) Gallup of Smethport; Charles (Sandy) Crosby of Ohio; Gene Crosby of South Carolina and Michael (Carole) Crosby of New Hampshire; 20 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kitten was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Crosby, a daughter-in-law, Mary Crosby, two sisters, Alice Tyler and Ruth Bloomgreen and four brothers, Donald, Milan, Gordon and John MacMartin.
Family and Friends are welcome from 4- 7:00 pm, Monday, October 22, 2018 and from 10-11:00 am, Tuesday, October 23, 2018 for a visitation at the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home, 210 North East Street, Coudersport where a Celebration of Kitten’s Life will be held at 11:00 am with Rev. Randy Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Homer Cemetery.
