Evelyn K. (Bowman) McElwee , 66, of Coudersport, PA passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Cole Memorial Hospital with her husband by her side.

Born December 2, 1950 in Williamsport, PA, she was the daughter of Robert T. and Eva P. (Runkle) Bowman, Sr.  She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Herbert B. McElwee, Jr. they married on April 1, 1978.

Evelyn was a graduate of Williamsport High school, and received her Associates degree from Pennsylvania College of Technology. She had worked for many years at Elby’s Family Restaurant in the Williamsport area, retiring in 1998.

She was a true homemaker for her family. She enjoyed gaming on Facebook and POGO, wire art and Tri-chem painting. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids. Evelyn enjoyed life to the fullest and always on her terms.

In keeping with Evelyn’s wishes,  services will be private and at the convenience of her family. Memorial contributions can be made to Relay for Life care of Cole Memorial Hospital, 1001 E. Second St., Coudersport, PA 16915

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Herbert B. McElwee, Jr., Coudersport, PA, son; Lonnie R. McElwee, Williamsport, PA, daughter Jesse J. (Glenn) Hasko, Williamsport, PA, grandchildren; Konnor and Alivya; brother; Ronald N. Bowman, DE, sister; Arlene E. Wells, OH, sister-in-law; Joy Rupert and Joy’s daughters, Duska, Prella, and Tanya of Eagleville, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Robert T. Bowman, Jr., and Michael Bowman, sister; Linda Bowman and granddaughter; Stephanie Lynn.
